I purchased this as a gift for my five-year-old grandson and he truly enjoys copying the patterns included as well as inventing his own “creations”.
He has always had a very creative mind and has loved building things, and I am therefore happy to see this has been feeding his creativity!
From a practical standpoint, this is something easy to pack up and take with you wherever you travel!
Our granddaughters and grandson love to play with these shapes. Ages 4-15, the different ages come up with more and more intricate designs. The feel of these pieces is very smooth, the wood is tight-grained maple, I think. It’s nice just to run my fingers through the box of them while I’m playing with the kids. LOL
I love doing these types of puzzles with my daughter. Not only does it teach her how to follow directions by looking at the cards, but we're also able to talk about what the names of the shapes are when we assemble the puzzles from the photos.
My 4yr old son loves these... pieces are a bit smaller than I expected so if you have a little one who puts things in the mouth for any reason I’d be careful and with adult supervision. otherwise their great fun! My son has been so creative making pictures.
I wanted a set of pattern blocks for the grand kids (who have my original sets of plastic blocks at their house) to use here, and I like that these have different colors than the plastic ones. They are thinner but that means they fit in a smaller space. Sturdy, smooth, and inexpensive. I made a large design one evening, and I was impressed how far 155 blocks can go.
My 6 year old loved the shape patterns and could do even the difficult ones. I wish they did have more cards to continue with learning shapes. I know the package comes from China and we did see the reviews to check on the paint levels. It is a good pattern puzzle and we got to use with his first grade math homework.
My grandchildren, ages 4 and 6, really enjoy this puzzle. It invites critical thinking to match the images on the cards and the kids also like making up their own images and creating stories to go along with them. Kids this age engage in storytelling as a way of exploring their ideas about the world, so a toy that encourages this skill is great for their social and intellectual development.
Love this! Affordable and keeps my son busy. Also comes with a carrying case. There’s a variety of shapes, they’re vibrant, sturdy, and have not chipped. We use them to copy the cards or just allow him to free-create. Just keep in mind they are a bit small so can easily be lost and not safe for super little ones. Very affordable as well!
